Gift 1: How good is my school?   In order to improve, schools need to know their strengths and weaknesses. This gift will provide teachers with a documented review of school's performance and will help them to design and develop a school improvement plan with the support of LCD staff. £10/€12 will allow a teacher to create a school improvement plan.
	Gift 2: Sponsor a teacher to attend a HIV/AIDS workshop Create knowledge and understanding about HIV/AIDS for the whole community by sponsoring a teacher to attend HIV/AIDS awareness workshop. The workshop will focus on how to prevent the spread of HIV, and how schools can support pupils and teachers that are infected or affected by the disease.  £18/€25 will pay for one teacher to attend an LCD HIV workshop for 3 days.
Gift 3: Teach a child to read   Without basic literacy skills, many children in Africa are unable to complete a primary education. This leaves them significantly disadvantaged in everyday life. Often, the cause the problem is poor literacy training amongst teachers, who are unable to support pupils in reading. This gift will help LCD to train teachers in literacy, allowing each teacher to teach hundreds of children to learn to read and write. £29/€40 will train one teacher at a literacy workshop.
	Gift 4: School Sponsorship   By sponsoring a school in Africa you will help as many as 1,000 children get a better education each year. As the school improves so will life for the whole community. Through the feedback report, you’ll be able to see the difference you are making! £250 sponsors a school for a year

How do you work out the cost of my gift?
The costs of a particular activity will vary from country to country. For the purpose of this catalogue, we have used the average price of the activity from across all the countries in which we work.

How much money is spent on administration?
So that 100% of your gift can be spent on the activity choose, LCD covers all administration/management costs with funds raised from events and other sources of unrestricted income.

Can I choose the country in which my gift is placed?
As we direct your gift to the country where the need is currently greatest, we are unable to give gift buyers the choice of a country to support. 

When I buy a gift for someone, what do they receive?
When you buy a gift, your friend or family member will receive a card from LCD, a colour photograph with information about the project they will be supporting and a certificate.

How long will the cards or gifts take to arrive?
We will endeavour to process order forms within 48 hours of receiving them and send them to you or the person you have bought the gift for (depending on which option you chose on the order form), by first class post. We advise that you leave plenty of time as we cannot guarantee delivery times due to the increased volume of mail around Christmas.

Can I Gift Aid the money I give for gifts and Christmas cards?
If you are a UK tax payer (and have paid tax above the amount of the donation you are making in the current financial year) you can tick the box on the order form and we can claim an extra 28p from the tax man on every pound you give.
Payment for Christmas cards are however, not eligible for Gift Aid therefore only money for LCD's gifts will be Gift Aided.
