The Hitch is our largest fundraising event and the biggest organised hitch-hike in the UK!
Since 1992, over 7,500 people have taken part, raising more than £3,500,000 for Link and travelling a combined total of almost 9,000,000 miles - that's more than 360 times around the world!

Why do the Hitch?

Hitch-hiking really is one of the most liberating and eye-opening methods of transport out there. You will arrive at your destination not only knowing that you have conquered one of the biggest challenges around, but also that you have raised valuable money that will improve the education and lives of thousands of children less fortunate than yourself...

Morocco Hitch
1,200 miles, average 7-8 days.
Hitching the entire 1,200 mile journey to the coast of Africa is a truly remarkable achievement. The journey takes you through the heart of rural France, onto Spain and a brief pause for paella, and finally into Morocco where a truly rich and distinctive culture awaits you.

Croatia Hitch

To mark the 20th anniversary of the Hitch, we're launching a brand new Hitch destination for the first time since 2004!
Known as the "Land of 1,000 Islands", Croatia is a haven of idyllic beaches surrounded by crystal clear waters - perfect for university stress release. It has a rich cultural history but is also rapidly becoming known as the modern party capital of Europe.
