By making a regular gift to Link Community Development through your payroll, you can help us give thousands of children a better chance in life. Your investment in education is one in Africa's future.
Employees
Giving a regular donation is the best way to support LCD’s projects in Africa. This is because it gives us a reliable income that allows us to plan our work as effectively as possible. Because your gift is taken from your salary before tax is deducted, it costs you less to give more. For example, if you give £5 a month from your pay packet, LCD gets £6.41 (the tax man pays the rest).
A monthly donation of:
£5 can provide a whole classroom of children with books to read and write in.
£10 can help build latrines.
£50 can sponsor a teacher to attend an HIV workshop.
To start donating to LCD through your payroll, this is what you need to do:
·Find out if your employer’s payroll department already offers a payroll giving scheme.
·If the scheme is already in place, simply tell your payroll giving department how much you want to give to LCD and how often.
·If your employer does not already have the scheme, you could suggest that they start one. It’s really easy to set up and there are lots of benefits for the company and its employees. We will be happy talk to them.

What is Payroll Giving?
Payroll Giving is a scheme that enables your employees to give to any UK charity straight from their gross salary (before tax is deducted), and to receive immediate tax relief of up to £4 for every £10 donated. This means it costs less to give more. The scheme is free and easy to set up.
Why should my business set up Payroll Giving?
Payroll Giving is a great way for you to show commitment to the causes that your employees care about. It can also help retention and recruitment of staff. You could even become eligible for various awards.
How do I sign up?
To set up a Payroll Giving scheme, all you have to do is sign up with a Payroll Giving Agency who will pass on the donations on your behalf.
CAF (Charities Aid Foundation) manages the Give As You Earn Scheme - the UK's largest Payroll Giving Scheme. To sign up, you can call them on 01732 520 019 or go to their website www.cafonline.org. Once you have signed up, all your employees need to do is fill out a form telling your payroll department how much they would like to give to which charity.
