How To Get There+

Follow our classic route or pick your own - it's entirely up to you. You can even try running, swimming or rowing instead of cycling!

The default route for reaching Africa is inspired by the popular Hitch route that goes down the west coast of France, past Bordeaux, and down the centre of Spain to Algeciras. Hitchers then catch a ferry across the Strait of Gibraltar to Tangier to complete their journey.

Your team can choose to follow this default route or make up your own. Perhaps you'd prefer to start from your home town in the UK? Or go via Barcelona or Madrid for a really authentic challenge?

If you don't fancy reaching Africa by bike, you can tackle the challenge using any other method you can come up with. Do you know any keen athletes who would run part of the way for your team? Perhaps you could organise a sponsored walk to go part of the way? Or maybe someone in your team wants to row or swim the channel crossings?

It really is completely flexible - and once you're registered you can use your personal profile page to record the distance you travelled and exactly how you managed it.
