It has been announced by the Wolaita Zone Department that the four LCD target woredas are amongst the six top-performing woreda in Wolaita for Grade 8 (Primary School Leaving Exams)!
The rankings are as follows:
1. Damot Pulasa (a phase 2 woreda with which we have worked since 2010 and which we selected since they had made such an effort to replicate WSIP innovations independently)
2. Damot Gale (a phase 1 woreda with which we have worked with since 2007)
3. A non-LCD target woreda
4. Bolosso Sore (a phase 1 woreda with which we have worked since 2007)
5. A non-LCD target woreda
6. Damot Sore a phase 2 woreda with which we have worked since 2010
This is amazing news. When we started working with the phase one woredas they came numbers 12 and 13 in the zone! The Zone Education Head told us that LCD's way of working had also impacted on the zone as a whole and that we had strongly influenced approaches across all woredas.
