Our vision is a world where all children have access to high quality education.
Who we are

What we do - Education Programmes in sub-Saharan African
In order to realise the vision of Link, we work in partnership with other members of the Link group to develop and deliver innovative programmes that promote access to quality education in sub-Saharan Africa.
LCD Ireland currently works:
- with LCD Ethiopia to improve the quality education in schools in Wolaita Zone in Ethiopia.
- with LCD Uganda to improve the quality of education in schools in Kamwenge District in western Uganda.
- with the Link Community Development International group to develop new initiatives,
particularly in the health sector. Learn more about Link's HIV/AIDS work.

What we do - Health Programmes in sub-Saharan Africa
LCD Ireland received funding in October 2011 for the Healthy Schools Programme. This pilot project aims to remove the obstacles to learning presented by ill-health and disease. It will improve the health of children in 100 schools in Ghana and Uganda. The project will also focus on promoting and improving health in the broader community.
What we do - Development Education in Ireland
We use our work in Africa as a platform for promoting development education and increasing awareness of development issues in Irish schools. Both the Link Schools Programme and the Global Teachers Programme aim to bring development education alive in Irish schools, as well as enabling Irish schools and teachers to support Link’s work in Africa.
