Meet the team - the following people are working hard to make Hitch 2010 a bigger and better success than ever before...
Mike Zywina, Events Officer
"Hi! I’m Chiara, I come from Italy and I graduated in European and International Studies few months ago. I’m very pleased to do an internship at LCD - I’m helping the team with the Hitch materials while learning all about the Hitch (which is quite unknown in Italy) and at the same time I’m gaining a first hand experience in the international cooperation field! This is a great opportunity for me!!"
Hannah Summers, Hitch Development Assistant
"Hello, I am Hannah! I have just started a two month internship with LCD after winning a place on the Vodafone ‘World of Difference’ scheme. I took part in the Hitch to Morocco over Easter 2008 and I can genuinely say it was one of the most rewarding, funniest and memorable experiences I have had to date. It’s a great opportunity to travel to a new country and make the most of your time out of University, and enjoy the journey getting there as well! Due to my experience of the Hitch, I am currently working within the LCD Events Team, looking at ways of developing the Hitch further!"
Vanessa Ho, Volunteer Events Assistant
“I started volunteering for LCD in September 2009 having graduated fromWarwickUniversity, and was just about to start my Masters at UCL. I hitched to Morocco in 2007, but unlike Mike, I took a whooping ten days to get there. Returning with blistered lips, sunburnt thumbs, and a renewed faith in humanity, I decided to become a committee member for the Hitch. I am also currently helping the team establish the Hitch in London! Watch out Londoners…”
