The Link Schools Programme (LSP) is the only programme run in conjunction with ongoing school development programmes in rural Africa, involving over 1500 schools. These projects improve the quality of education for children, encourage sustainable school development and promote global citizenship.
LCD has been facilitating school partnerships since 1998 and our long experience, together with in-depth knowledge of the context in Ethiopia, Ghana, South Africa and Uganda enables us to effectively support both you and your partner school with the link.
Your participation in the Link Schools Programme contributes to these projects and in turn your link benefits from our direct contact with your partner school. By partnering with a school in Africa you will work with Link Community Development towards improving learning in rural schools in Africa. International school partnerships provide valuable opportunities for students in primary and secondary schools in both Africa and the UK to learn directly from each other, deepening their understanding of global issues and strengthening the impact of global citizenship.

How do we get a school partnership started?
In order to join the programme you will need to fill in an application form. Please email your name, your school's contact details and the country in which you would like to find a partner school to: linkschools@lcd.org.uk so that we can send you more information and an application form.
Once we have received your completed form we will contact our colleagues in the relevant country who will find a suitable partner school for you. Because of the varying term dates, it may take several weeks until your link formally starts.
When we have chosen your partner school we will send you an extensive resource pack, together with further information of your partner school and encourage you to get in touch with your partner school as soon as possible.
