Article: LCD hosts VSO delegation for experience-sharing visit in Wolaita Zone of Ethiopia

LCD hosted a team of eight VSO staff, volunteers and Ministry of Education representatives in the Wolaita Zone of Ethiopia in early November.
The four day visit was designed to share learning around LCD’s support to implementation of the Government’s School Improvement Programme (SIP) in our two phase one target woredas. In particular, activities focused on how we have revised and simplified the indicators for SIP and our experiences in mobilising community stakeholders to participate in school assessment and planning. The visit included meetings with the LCD field office and head office teams, school visits and classroom observations, focus groups, meetings with the woreda education offices and discussions with zone level education officials.
We hope that this visit will lead to further collaboration between VSO Ethiopia and LCD in the future.
