A total of 95 School Directors and Deputy Directors attended LCD Ethiopia’s inaugural Leadership Training Programme on 24^th and 25^th October 2009.  All school managers from all government elementary schools in Damot Gale and Bolosso Sore woreda were invited. 

The training has been designed to respond to the weaknesses identified during data collection and analysis of all our target schools in support of the Ethiopian Government’s School Improvement Programme. Participants were taken through a series of modules including roles and responsibilities, holding effective meetings, making difficult decisions, improving communication with all stakeholders, managing human and financial resources effectively, and school planning. The training has been designed in partnership with woreda and zone education departments and was facilitated by LCD and education officials. 

At the end of the course, participants completed an evaluation form which was overwhelmingly positive and showed a sincere desire to improve themselves and their schools.
