Who is eligible to take part in the Global Teachers Programme?
The programme is open to qualified teachers at primary or secondary level, who have classroom experience and who are going to remain engaged with schools on their return to Ireland.

In order to take part in the Global Teachers Programme, you must be:
- A qualified primary or secondary school teacher
- Employed as a teacher or principal, or retired with on-going contact with schools
- Set to continue as a teacher, principal or to be engaged with schools for a year after placement
- Able to attend one of two selection days - 10th or 11th March 2012
- Able to attend two pre-departure training weekends in Dublin, 20th - 22nd April 2012 and 15th - 17th June 2012
- Physically capable of living and working in rural Africa

How much does it cost to take part in the Global Teachers Programme?
The fee for the Global Teachers Programme is €2,000, which includes two pre-departure residential training weekends in Ireland; international travel; food and accommodation on your placement; support while on placement; and ongoing support on return to Ireland, including two follow-up training weekends.
Global Teachers may want to undertake additional fundraising activities which will help us support the Link Community Development project in the district where your placement school is located.
