Following on from the success of the 2011 Malawi Bike Ride, we are delighted to launch the 2012 event from 30th June - 9th July 2012! (New dates).

The Malawi bike ride helps support Link Community Development to improve access to quality education in Malawi. The 2012 event will take you through some beautiful scenery, provide some exciting cycling challenges together with a fantastic group and allow you the unique opportunity of seeing our development work in action.

The Malawi Bike Ride 2012: 30th June - 9th July 2012


- Arrival in Lilongwe, capital of Malawi, with a transfer to Dedza district where the group will visit a Link school project.

-The first stop on the cycle is at the lakeside resort of Monkey Bay, then cycling along the southern shores of Lake Malawi, you will have glimpses of Malawian wildlife including hippos and elephants in the Liwonde National Park. 

- We continue south to the old colonial capital of Zomba where we reach the Zombar plateau which gives stunning views of Malawi. The ride travels along quiet roads for 80km to the lively city of Blantyre. 

- Continuing through the dramatic Mulanje Mountain Forest Reserve, riders will see visit another school and see some of the work with which Link Scotland has been involved in. 
This will be a fitting end to an amazing trip.
