Who we are
Link Community Development Scotland was set up in 2006 and shares the Link Community Development mission to promote access to quality education in rural communities in sub-Saharan Africa from Scotland.
What we do
We aim to improve the lives of children and young people by improving access to and the quality of education in rural communities in Ethiopia, Ghana, Malawi, South Africa and Uganda. We support the global commitment to improve basic education for all in sub-Saharan Africa.
How we do it
The greatest challenge is not getting children into school but ensuring they stay in school and benefit from a quality education that provides them with the skills they need to reach their full potential. With primary education available to all, pupil numbers have increased but without support for school management, teaching and learning, and community participation, the result is poor school performance, and low levels of pupil retention and attainment.
