Payroll Giving

Support Link Scotland through Payroll Giving
Employees
Giving a regular donation is the best way to support Link’s projects in Africa. This is because it gives us a reliable income that allows us to plan our work as effectively as possible. Your gift is taken from your salary before tax is deducted, so it costs you less to give more. For example, if you give £5 a month from your pay packet, Link gets £6.41 (the tax man pays the rest).

Start donating to Link Scotland with Payroll Giving
1. Find out if your employer’s payroll department already offers a payroll giving scheme.
2. If the scheme is already in place, simply tell your payroll giving department how much you want to give to Link and how often.
3. If your employer does not already have the scheme, you could suggest that they start one. It’s really easy to set up and there are lots of benefits for the company and its employees. We will be happy talk to them.

What is Payroll Giving?
Payroll Giving is a scheme that enables your employees to give to any UK charity straight from their gross salary (before tax is deducted), and to receive immediate tax relief of up to £4 for every £10 donated. This means it costs less to give more. The scheme is free and easy to set up.

Why should my business set up Payroll Giving?
Payroll Giving is a great way for you to show commitment to the causes that your employees care about. It can also help retention and recruitment of staff. You could even become eligible for various awards.

How do we sign up?
To set up a Payroll Giving scheme, all you have to do is sign up with a Payroll Giving Agency who will pass on the donations on your behalf.

CAF (Charities Aid Foundation) manages the Give As You Earn Scheme - the UK's largest Payroll Giving Scheme. To sign up, you can call them on 01732 520 019 or go to their website
www.cafonline.org.

Once you have signed up, all your employees need to do is fill out a form telling your payroll department how much they would like to give to which charity.
