Supporting LCD Scotland events which take place all year round. In April we held a sell-out comedy night at the Stand Comedy Club in Edinburgh and we are planning an African Music Night to take place in October. Help us to sell tickets, advertise the events and share your ideas with us.
Organising fundraising activities to raise money for LCD in any way you like. You can do this independently or work together with other members of your group – it’s up to you!
Being part of a Supporter Group means you don’t have to do all of this on your own. Make use of the Supporter Pack provided by LCD, talk to other group members to find out what has worked well for them, or team up to make presentations and plan fundraising activities together.
Who are LCD Supporters?
Volunteers from all backgrounds can join LCD Supporter Groups and help us to achieve our aims. If you have worked in education, know something about international development, or just want to put your free time to good use, then we want to hear from you!
The Supporter Group network was launched with the help of teachers who are part of our Link Schools or Global Teachers programmes. They have lots of knowledge about our education work in Scotland and in Africa, creating a strong foundation for the supporter groups.
Your passion, ideas and enthusiasm will add a valuable element to the Support Group network.
How do I join?
There are currently four LCD Supporter Groups in Scotland based in Glasgow, Edinburgh, north Aberdeenshire and Highlands.
To join the LCD Supporter Group network email a brief description of why you want to become an LCD Supporter and which group you would be interested in joining to kate@lcd.org.uk or call 0131 243 2685. We will put you in touch with a group leader in your area and send you a Supporter Pack to help you get started.
If there is not yet a Supporter Group in your area, contact us to find out about what you can do as an individual or to talk about how to set up a new group.
