Our vision is a world where all children have access to high quality education. In order to realise that vision we work in partnership with other members of the Link group to develop and deliver innovative projects that promote access to quality education in South Africa.
Link was registered as a Non-Profit Organisation in South Africa in 1995 and has worked as a development partner with the national and provincial Departments of Education across South Africa. Link has gained invaluable knowledge and experience in the specific realities of schools in the provinces and in the education system as a whole. Link’s education development initiatives have focused on developing the professional capacity of educators and managers in schools and district offices in the effective and efficient management and governance of schools within a comprehensive education policy development environment.
Link also developed through partnerships with provinces and districts a unique approach to school performance review (SPR), with the use of data at school and district level to inform planning and delivery of services to schools.
In 2003 Link was awarded its first contract in the HIV&AIDS arena. Currently, Link is involved in the implementation of 5 major education interventions in South Africa across 7 provinces. Four of the interventions are directly related to the mitigation of HIV&AIDS in the South African education system.
