Sponsor a school in Africa today and help hundreds of children receive a better education.
What is School Sponsorship Sponsoring a school in Africa is a great way for you to help hundreds of children receive a better education and escape extreme poverty.
Why it is needed Many children travel long distances to attend poorly equipped schools with no books, large class sizes and few qualified teachers. Without education it is incredibly hard for children to escape the cycle of extreme poverty and avoid health threats such as HIV/AIDS.
What your support provides Your support allows your school to experience a range of our school improvement programs such as School Performance Review and HIV/AIDS Action Planning. Your school will work with the district and us to identify their strengths and weaknesses, create school improvement plans, train teachers, and empower parents to support the school. What you receive As a School Sponsor you receive:
A profile of your school that includes pictures and facts about the school and community
A letter from Nobel Peace Prize Winner Archbishop Desmond Tutu
More information on our program work in Africa.
Annual feedback on your school's progress
How much it costs Sponsoring a school in Africa costs just $30 per month, that is only $360 annually. Email info@lcd-usa.org or call 312.243.4615 to sign-up or learn more.
“Being a School Sponsor with LCD has given me a real insight into a real African primary school. Through the feedback reports I can see the difference the money makes at Chithimba Full Primary School academically as well as in the community. I am happy that I can make a difference!”
