We are delighted to report the news that our Donor Development Manager, Caroline McKay, has become the first woman to run the West Highland Way in one go during mid-Winter.
This is a quite astonishing achievement. Running from the famous Fort William to Milngavie continuously for 25 hours, Caroline covered over 95 miles of tough terrain, including steep climbs and rocky paths. Beginning at a few minutes after 9pm, a large majority of Caroline’s run was under the cover of darkness, it was only when she reached the 55-mile point that the sun had risen!
If running continuously for 25 hours is not enough, Caroline has also raised an amazing £3,500 for Link's work in sub-Saharan Africa - and it's still rising! Please help her raise even more here
All of the team here at Link Community Development International would like to thank everybody who has donated and shared news of Caroline’s run over the past few weeks. We would like to send an extra special thank you to all of Caroline's support crew, family and friends who have done an amazing job helping Caroline through the run itself, making sure she completed it in one piece.
Finally, we would like to send our heartfelt gratitude for Caroline herself! We are so proud of your achievement and are in awe of what you have done!
