Link Community Development

Improving the quality of education in Africa

We invite you to become a Friend of Link.

The need for education is universal. Access to a good school is not.

In the UK, access to education is considered a given. This is not the case in many countries around the world. At Link Community Development, we envision a world where every child has the right to quality education.
Children all over the world love school, and education is a vital tool for communities to lift themselves out of poverty, yet for the most vulnerable this is sometimes an insurmountable challenge. In Africa 30 million children are not in school; the average class size is 60; children often walk a long way to get to school; teachers are poorly trained and unsupported; and girls face multiple challenges including the risk of early marriage and up to 5 hours of domestic work a day on top of their education.
We are working hard to solve these critical challenges through effective school improvements that help the most vulnerable. We work with schools, governments and communities to make sustainable changes and improvements that will change the lives and futures of many children. In the past three years alone Link has trained almost 10,000 teachers and has reached almost 600,000 children across Ethiopia, Ghana, Malawi and Uganda. But, we cannot do this alone.
Your support can give children and communities the chance of a more secure life. Can you help by becoming a Friend of Link and donating just £10 per year?
This will help us continue our life-changing work with communities in some of the most deprived areas of the world. With your friendship, we can make a real difference to the lives of thousands of children on a daily basis.
As a thank you for being a Friend of Link, we will keep you up to date with our projects and activities through our biannual newsletter and exclusive invitations to events.
