Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka Appointed To United Nations Post
United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, following consultation with Member States, has announced the appointment of Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka of South Africa as Executive Director of the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and Empowerment of Women (UN-Women). Ms. Mlambo-Ngcuka replaces Michelle Bachelet.
Ms. Mlambo-Ngcuka is Founder and Executive Chairperson of Umlambo Foundation, which works in partnership with Link Community Development in South Africa and Malawi.
